Kathy was absolutely ecstatic with joy and happiness on December 2, 2001 when GC Danpeg's Sony of Silverestate, DM achieved the title Distinguished Merit. She could then breathe a big sigh of relief when GC Silverestate Dimension became the fifth Grand Champion by her Dam, Sony. This achievement was truly a dream come true for Kathy as it took several years of persistence and hard work to have seven silvers grand.

Kathy would like to thank Diana Frailey for first granding GC, RW Silverestate Cover Girl and becoming Best of Breed Nationally in 1995/1996 show season. She would also like to thank Darleen Johnson for granding GC Silverestate Big Shot of Silknlace (now of RiverVista); Tracy Smith and Penny Malthers for granding GC Silverestate Calendar Girl, and Jan Aeschlimann for granding GC Silverestate Image of misteeriver. Each showed their lovely cats beautifully.

Sony consistently passed on her large round eyes, up-turned nose, nice tophead, heavily boned body and long dripping silky coat to her kittens, as well as her very sweet and mellow personality. You can see Sony's eyes and nose in each one. Sony is a very low-keyed cat and always got along well with the other cats in Kathy's home. When Kathy called her name she always answered back as though she was chatting away about the day.
Sony only cycled once a year and naturally that would occur the moment she was is full dripping coat, so Kathy did not take her out into the show ring until she was five years of age. Sony charmed the judges with her sweet mellow personality and marvelous boning. Kathy always enjoyed showing Sony and her off spring because they were all so laid-back and playful in the show ring.
If Kathy were to choose one special trait about Sony it would be her loving personality, which she in turn passed onto her kittens. Kathy loves to hear from a new owner that one of her kitties is the love of their life. She is proud to be able to produce, happy, healthy and loving cats that go on to produce more of the same consistently.

Peggy Thompson (Danpeg Cattery) who bred Sony is known for producing many beautiful cats. Kathy feels so lucky to have Sony and is proud to see her special look passed on to her offspring. Peggy is a special lady and has retired from breeding, but stays in touch with the cat fancy. She and Kathy are very proud of Sony.
Kathy told Peggy many times that she was going to make Sony a DM as she so consistently produced nice kittens in each litter. Kathy's dream came true and what a joy it has been for her to have Sony in her breeding program. Kathy is very thankful to Peggy for sharing Sony with her.
Sony is now retired and just turned 10 years old on May 21,2002, but looks good enough to show today. Sony is like fine wine as she just got better and better with age. She is as happy as she is loved and admired by all who know her--Kathy's sweet "Sony Baloney."
